So, I know, it's been forever since we have posted anything! But we have really been busy -- not only with Noah's program, but also with all the plans for the new outdoor AND indoor equipment. For those of you that don't know, we are in the planning stages of making a circular walking track for Noah outside that will allow him to spend time playing outside and, along with the new indoor track, to walk without turning him around every 3 meters. This means a lot for his program and puts us one step closer to getting him walking on his own.
I know I don't have any pictures this time(my camera needs batteries), but I thought it would be nice to let everyone know how well things are going with Noah's program. The biofeedback program (you can read about in an earlier post) is showing great results already. Not only do we see him continuing to produce increased amounts of energy from the muscles we are doing (gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, and tibialis) as measured by the biofeedback device, we are seeing increased muscle tone and an improved ability to keep himself upright. Not to mention that we can see him better using those muscles when walking! It is really exciting to see such obvious improvement!
Also exciting is that it seems we have FINALLY gotten Noah's respiratory patterning device working again (also explained in an earlier post). For the first time in a while we are doing the full program, and are really excited about what this means for Noah's improvement!
Noah's army is a group of volunteers united in doing a program that will give Noah the best chance he has for reaching his potential. Come by any time for news on his progress and to see pictures of him and his brother.
Prayer Requests
UPDATED 08/20/12
1. Please pray that we can continue to get our new house set up for all of Noah's needs and that we can find all the volunteers we needs to do Noah's program (this is always a big, slow process when we move).
3. Our other big request is for Noah's hip. Noah's out-of-joint left hip is really holding him back. He needs range of motion, and he needs the muscles that are too tight to loosen up and the loose muscles to tighten up and get bigger. Pray for a new type of physical therapy we are started specifically to help the hip.
