How time does fly! It seems I get to the end of every day and think, "Did I not just start this day moments ago?" I also think about the number of things I had intended to do that I have not yet done. It's always quite a long list, and yet... I think of how much fun I had with my two beautiful boys. There isn't a day that goes by -- no matter how quickly -- that isn't filled with laughter at the funny things they both say and do. And I realize that I am abundantly blessed -- way more than I could ever deserve because no one deserves blessings so great. My heart so fills that I can hardly speak...
Luckily I can still type to let you know what you really came here for, which is, "How is Noah doing?" The answer is, "very well!" He was reading a book about Thomas Edison today, and at one of the pages he let out a laugh. Of course I marked the page as I turned it for him so that I could look back to see what he thought was so funny. Evidently the "father of electricity" had a dynamo built that was so large they called it "Jumbo" after a famous circus elephant. Only the other day the boys watch the movie "Dumbo" and Dumbo the elephant's real name was none other than Jumbo. That evidently (and understandably) struck Noah as rather funny.
I tell this story because I am always amazed at how smart Noah is (even though I know it better than anybody -- I still find it incredible), and I love it when he shows it to me in a way I wasn't really expecting or looking for.
Brain injured people aren't supposed to be smart -- it's an ugly stereotype (as stereotypes tend to be). You can never make assumptions about people because of what they look like or how well they can (or cannot, as the case is) move their bodies. It's a good lesson to learn about anyone!
Noah's army is a group of volunteers united in doing a program that will give Noah the best chance he has for reaching his potential. Come by any time for news on his progress and to see pictures of him and his brother.
Prayer Requests
UPDATED 08/20/12
1. Please pray that we can continue to get our new house set up for all of Noah's needs and that we can find all the volunteers we needs to do Noah's program (this is always a big, slow process when we move).
3. Our other big request is for Noah's hip. Noah's out-of-joint left hip is really holding him back. He needs range of motion, and he needs the muscles that are too tight to loosen up and the loose muscles to tighten up and get bigger. Pray for a new type of physical therapy we are started specifically to help the hip.

I love that story about Jumbo!! Ray loves biographies and autobiographies too. It's great to hear how Noah is doing! I'm glad you're doing so well too. We go IAHP in February. I'm going to try and post daily like you did. Take care!
I can't wait to see all about your next visit!
