We had a pretty quick day at the clinic seeing only the one doctor that is going out of town next week -- Dr. Morales. He did a physical evaluation focusing on muscles and joints. He wants to continue aggressive treatment of the hip, of course, and he also wants do some electric stim and biofeedback with his upper body and arms to increase his arm movements. He made some suggestions on some ways to hold Noah that will be better for his hip, which are simple but brilliant. Then he recommended some braces on Noah's feet to help keep them straighter.
This evening, Dr. Morales will spend some time looking over his notes and coming up with a program based on Noah's needs, and tomorrow we will meet with him again to begin learning the program that he wants us to do with Noah.
Hopefully they will also get us in to see someone else so that we won't have quite so much to do next week. And maybe we can get a few pictures then as well.
Noah's army is a group of volunteers united in doing a program that will give Noah the best chance he has for reaching his potential. Come by any time for news on his progress and to see pictures of him and his brother.
Prayer Requests
UPDATED 08/20/12
1. Please pray that we can continue to get our new house set up for all of Noah's needs and that we can find all the volunteers we needs to do Noah's program (this is always a big, slow process when we move).
3. Our other big request is for Noah's hip. Noah's out-of-joint left hip is really holding him back. He needs range of motion, and he needs the muscles that are too tight to loosen up and the loose muscles to tighten up and get bigger. Pray for a new type of physical therapy we are started specifically to help the hip.
