It was less than a month ago that Noah amazed us by crawling ten feet in eight minutes. The IAHP staff was so impressed that they sent us home with a crawling program that did NOT include the incline floor. The idea was to give him as much opportunity to crawl on the flat floor as possible in short bursts to keep from tiring Noah out or allowing him to be overly frustrated.
The thinking was that he could get a foot or two in two minutes and work toward reaching a goal (three months from now) to crawl 1 meter (3ft.) in 2 minutes consistently. The Institutes are known for their lofty goals that keep you pushing and working hard, but for once I think the goals might have been set a little low.
In this video you can see Noah crawling over four feet in two minutes, and that was a regular occurrence this morning. Remember, also, that just a little over a year ago Noah was in so much pain in his left hip he could hardly move at all.
Noah's army is a group of volunteers united in doing a program that will give Noah the best chance he has for reaching his potential. Come by any time for news on his progress and to see pictures of him and his brother.
Prayer Requests
UPDATED 08/20/12
1. Please pray that we can continue to get our new house set up for all of Noah's needs and that we can find all the volunteers we needs to do Noah's program (this is always a big, slow process when we move).
3. Our other big request is for Noah's hip. Noah's out-of-joint left hip is really holding him back. He needs range of motion, and he needs the muscles that are too tight to loosen up and the loose muscles to tighten up and get bigger. Pray for a new type of physical therapy we are started specifically to help the hip.
