Prescription nausea medications, so effective for adults, tend to be dangerous for children, especially for kids like Noah. I can say he recovers much more quickly that he used to, but once the vomiting starts, it's just a matter of miserably waiting it out while he looses increasing amounts of fluids.
Today, on the other hand, we had some success at holding off the flow with Alvita's Ginger Root Tea. I made it for Noah twice (it had a wonderful aroma) and kept him sipping on it throughout the day. I added the extra in Noah's food to get a maximum dose, and he has been able to eat several meals and keep his food down.
Ginger has been used as a nausea remedy since ancient times, and if this is not enough for you, numerous modern day studies effectively show its benefit for nausea caused by illness, morning sickness, and even motion sickness.
If that's not enough for you, watch Mythbusters. They do an entire episode on comparisons of motion sickness remedies (including prescribed medicines), and the only one that was effective was ginger pills. ;-)
Alvita's Ginger Root Tea has listed as ingredients ginger root, nothing more, and while Noah can't have any sweeteners, you could use stevia, honey, agave nectar or sweeter of your choice.
