Energy Problem

We've been having a bit of trouble during crawling lately, which I will call "the sleepies". Multiple times lately Noah has been crawling when inexplicably, he stops and falls asleep (as you can see in this picture). I am trying to get this problem sorted out. Maybe he is still a bit "off" from the holidays, or maybe it is the constantly changing weather. I'm going to adjust some of his supplements to see if that helps.

On a funnier note, I put Noah down on the floor to crawl yesterday and went to the other room to get his lunch ready. A few minutes later I walked back in to discover that he had pushed one of his "movable walls" aside, and was making his way toward the carpet (above photo). He looked rather proud of himself, and when I commented on it, he busted out laughing. He is such a sweet, little rascal!!

Walking

We still have a lot to work on with Noah's walking environment, but here is a snap of him giving it a good try. You may notice the braces (known as AFOs) on his legs -- they are just too restrictive, and he won't do a whole lot in them. I don't know if it is just too uncomfortable, or if they just feel too funny to move in, but he mostly just stands still.

He did start putting a little pressure in his feet, however, and he took a number of steps, which I was really proud of him for trying. It was just a little experiment, and it leads me to believe that he will try to walk with work boots on. The sell them at Kohl's, so we will be picking up a pair soon.

For his perseverance, however, I did put him in the gravity free environment. If you saw the video I posted a few days ago, you know the kind of reaction he had to that. I don't know who has more fun -- him spinning, or me watching him!!

Super Sonic Fast!

I know I've posted recently about Noah doing some really fast crawling in his new shoes. He's going for a time of 4 meters in 4 minutes, which he has now done several times. Well, this morning he blew it away by crawling 4 meters in 3 minutes! Way to go, Noah!!!

Volunteers and Fantastic Crawling

I want to take a moment to let my wonderful volunteers know how much I appreciate them!! There are quite a few parts of Noah's program that I couldn't do without you guys, and you are all such a pleasure to have over! I cannot say enough how much I appreciate you giving your time. Thanks so much!!
This picture is of a couple of our wonderful volunteers (Mickey and Mary) cheering Noah on while he is crawling. He LOVES the attention! Now you can see why he is so spoiled. He once told me using facilitated communication, "Everyone who gets to know me loves me!" And it is so true.

The really great news is that Noah is doing great crawling. He smashed the "crawling victory" time of 12m in 4 minutes yesterday afternoon. He did just over 12m in 3 minutes and 48 seconds. Way to go Noah!! Pretty good for a kid "they" said would never crawl!
