Hello again! I know you were probably expecting a nice long update yesterday, but we didn't get back from the clinic until around 9:30!! We were exhausted, and I knew I'd have more time this evening.
We had a very good day yesterday, and saw some good results. Of course Noah is extremely intelligent, as always, and he had a great job showing the staff how good he is at problem solving. He read a story, then answered questions -- most of which he answered correctly. And this was a high school level problem solving exercise.
We also saw during measurements that Noah had gained 3lbs (He was exactly 32lbs!!), he had grown one inch, and his chest had grown 166% of normal for his age (something like 2cm).
Today and tomorrow the staff will work on his program, most of which will center around his reflux (number 1) and his hip (number 2). These are the two things holding him back that need to be addressed, and the consensus is that we will attack these two problems so that we can move forward.
So overall, we felt really good about what they are saying. We also enjoyed the lectures today, and we go for another round of lectures tomorrow -- after which we will probably go ahead and start learning the next six month's program.
Noah's army is a group of volunteers united in doing a program that will give Noah the best chance he has for reaching his potential. Come by any time for news on his progress and to see pictures of him and his brother.
Prayer Requests
UPDATED 08/20/12
1. Please pray that we can continue to get our new house set up for all of Noah's needs and that we can find all the volunteers we needs to do Noah's program (this is always a big, slow process when we move).
3. Our other big request is for Noah's hip. Noah's out-of-joint left hip is really holding him back. He needs range of motion, and he needs the muscles that are too tight to loosen up and the loose muscles to tighten up and get bigger. Pray for a new type of physical therapy we are started specifically to help the hip.
