We had a good day in the clinic today, and we feel good about what the doctors (MD's and PhD's) have to say about Noah. Basically, there is good news and bad news. The bad news is that Noah's left femur is about 4cm above the hip socket, and there are the very beginnings of a "false socket", which is not a good thing. The good news is that the treatment for his hip is going to be very aggressive this period. What does that mean -- well, we'll let you know when we get the program, but we should be doing a number of things all focused at helping his hip.
That is pretty much all for today. Tomorrow we are going to see the same folks, and they will give us a "program" to do for the weekend. On Monday they will be able to assess the results of what we did over the weekend, and we will be able to ask any questions that have come up. Then we will do the evaluation, which will focus on the physical progress that Noah has made this period -- which has been very good.
We are exhausted! But Noah seems to be feeling pretty well, and we are praying he sleeps well tonight so we can get a good night as well. Not to mention we have the whole weekend to rest and catch up.
Noah's army is a group of volunteers united in doing a program that will give Noah the best chance he has for reaching his potential. Come by any time for news on his progress and to see pictures of him and his brother.
Prayer Requests
UPDATED 08/20/12
1. Please pray that we can continue to get our new house set up for all of Noah's needs and that we can find all the volunteers we needs to do Noah's program (this is always a big, slow process when we move).
3. Our other big request is for Noah's hip. Noah's out-of-joint left hip is really holding him back. He needs range of motion, and he needs the muscles that are too tight to loosen up and the loose muscles to tighten up and get bigger. Pray for a new type of physical therapy we are started specifically to help the hip.
