Standing and Sitting

In addition to the program that we do with Noah throughout the day, we also have a physical therapist that works with Noah for an hour once a week. A great thing about the physical therapy is that it is one of the best ways to see Noah's improvement in all other parts of our program. For instance, I can tell that the physical program that we are doing is helping Noah to improve in trunk strength because when the physical therapist works on sitting, he can do it much better than he could a year ago (see a picture of it below). Also, I can see how much better the pain in his hip really is, because he can now bear weight on his legs in a standing position, which he would not even attempt a year ago (shown above).

I also have to say that we love our physical therapist (Amy), and that Noah thinks she is cute, sweet, and very funny. Plus, I like to have the hour to sit back and watch someone else work with Noah for a while. It makes me feel good to see the improvements he is making -- it makes it all worth while.
