Never fail when things are going really well, there comes a day that completely flops, and it seems particularly true when one is particularly excited about something. After the great crawling last week and a couple good days when we got home, I put Noah on the floor yesterday and... nothing. He just looked at me, stubbornly still.
I tried for a half hour to get him to crawl. I begged and offered him all his favorite things, but to no avail. I got him up and asked him what was wrong. His answer, "I am tired, and I need to rest and watch a movie." Yes. I admit. I was a little frustrated. We did not watch a movie, but I didn't try to make him crawl again that day.
Today I put him on the floor and he worked hard every time. I have learned (I could say Noah has taught me) that if he is not working hard, there is probably a reason and I should listen to him. In this case it seemed he was just a little sore starting back and needed a breather.
It was also a lesson for me -- and evidently I am a slow learner -- that frustration is never the way to go. Every setback is an opportunity to step back, take a breath, and assess your situation. You may just need a little rest, or you may need to attack the problem a different way for a while -- yesterday we did a lot of respiratory programs and TENS on Noah's tightest muscles. Today he was fine.
Noah's army is a group of volunteers united in doing a program that will give Noah the best chance he has for reaching his potential. Come by any time for news on his progress and to see pictures of him and his brother.
Prayer Requests
UPDATED 08/20/12
1. Please pray that we can continue to get our new house set up for all of Noah's needs and that we can find all the volunteers we needs to do Noah's program (this is always a big, slow process when we move).
3. Our other big request is for Noah's hip. Noah's out-of-joint left hip is really holding him back. He needs range of motion, and he needs the muscles that are too tight to loosen up and the loose muscles to tighten up and get bigger. Pray for a new type of physical therapy we are started specifically to help the hip.

LOVE the new look of your web page! I still check it just about every day. I am so happy to read about Noah's progress and see the precious pictures. I miss you and look forward to the day when I can be a soldier in Noah's Army again! Love always! Janice
