Solid Food!!

One thing I have worked on through the years (or at least the last several) is getting Noah some solid foods here and there. It has always been difficult for him, but I have always known that it is important to try.

It is also difficult to come up with the right foods to try it with because his diet is so limited. I have been thinking about it, though, and this morning I made Noah some oat flour pancakes with blueberry "syrup" (which was just frozen blueberries microwaved and blended smooth in the blender). I make pancakes fairly regularly, and I thought Noah might like something that would make him feel like he was eating the same as the rest of us.
Not only did he LOVE it, he at the whole thing with no problem at all. I'm not saying he chewed it up perfectly, but he swallowed it easily (and very, very happily). This may seem like such a small thing, but after so many years of grinding all his food and everything looking the consistency of oatmeal, this was a breakthrough!!

The picture below is of Noah when I asked him if he liked his pancake. I think that is a yes!

Later today I am going to add to the Nutrition segment that I started last week. I'll be going straight into some suggestions of how to get your kids to eat better!
