- Glenn Doman
Mr. Doman is an amazing man, though he would certainly deny it. Over fifty years ago he started an organization to help brain-injured kids (referring to any kids with any kind of brain issues -- CP, Autism, LD, ADHD, Traumatic Brain Injury -- the list keeps on going) at a time when most doctors and specialists thought that these children should be kept quietly institutionalized. He worked long and hard to come up with a program that would give these kids the best chance for success in their lives -- and succeeded!
That being said, I have been thinking lately about how I can really improve Noah's program. We focus so much on the physical and physiological -- with good reason -- that sometimes the Intellectual part is just whatever we can get done that day. It is still a good bit of stuff, but in talking with Noah on the FC yesterday, I found that he wanted more - is craving more.
So that is what I am going to try to do. I want to make sure he consistently gets that "brain workout" to the highest degree. Because another thing that Mr. Doman has taught us is that when you improve the brain in one area, research has shown that it improves in all areas.
