Learning from Sports Commercials

You know the slogans. Sports companies have made billions of dollars off of them. They claim athletic enhancement with their thick soles and sugary beverages (neither of which science backs up as good for your health or your athletic ability). They claim "cool" so that while you may not be the best athlete, you can sure dress like the best. They show a flashy athlete -- one of the best at what they do -- parade around in the right clothes or shoes or sweating the beverage they just drank.

But you know what I see when these flashy slogans dramatically float by on the TV screen? I see my little athlete -- not fighting to be the best at some sport, but fighting for a chance to do a few "normal" activities in life. Crawling. Walking. Talking so that people understand him (and not just think that he is 'making noise'). And that is why I do it with him. It is why I keep going. And why I have fun with it.

So I say "Impossible is nothing", therefore I "Get up Stay up", and "Just do it".

"Is it in you?" Well, just ask yourself what wouldn't you do for your kids?
