Trying out some new physical therapy -- the Feldenkrais method

We came across a different approach to physical therapy and have decided to try it out for Noah. It is kind of hard to explain, and after several attempts to type an explanation, I'm not gonna try. Let's just say that it has to do with learning to move with less effort. It utilizes slow and natural movements to stimulate the body and brain. It reminds me of yoga or even Tai Chi, but with simpler, easier, and more natural movements.

This is not something that will replace, or even take away from, what we already do. It should actually enhance what we do by teaching Noah comfortable, natural ways to move and use his muscles to better do his current physical program. I am hopeful that it will really lesson the pain in, and bring greater function to that left hip that gives him so many problems.

We went to our first session today, and Noah loved it! As a matter of fact, after just a few minutes Noah was so relaxed that the PT was able to easily place his left leg in positions it hasn't been able to be in for several years. As with anytime we try something that seems to do really well for Noah, I am cautiously optimistic!

Here Noah has his left hip bent easily and comfortably. He and "Miss" Bobbi got along really well!!
